EnviroStars Program

Nationally recognized, the EnviroStars Program certifies businesses that protect the environment by reducing, recycling, and properly managing hazardous waste. The EnviroStars program was created in King County in 1995 as a service of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program, King County Department of Natural Resources & Parks, and has expanded to additional counties in the Puget Sound area, including Jefferson, Kitsap, Pierce, and Whatcom counties. Puget Soundkeeper Alliance (PSA), joined in establishing the EnviroStars Co-op in order to support the spread of EnviroStars in the Puget Sound region. The partnership and affiliation among the different county-specific EnfiroStars programs and PSA are referred to as the EnviroStars Cooperative (Co-op).

The goal of the EnviroStars Program is to give businesses incentives and recognition for reducing hazardous waste, while giving consumers an objective way to identify environmentally responsible businesses. To find out more about EnviroStars, go to their website by clicking on the logo.

National Clean Boating Campaign
Puget Soundkeeper Alliance is a proud sponsor of the National Clean Boating Campaign. Through education and outreach, the campaign teaches boaters and businesses clean maintenance and best management practices.
Puget Sound is known as the boating capital of the nation -- statewide, one in five households owns a boat and there are 130,944 pleasure boats in use in the greater Seattle region. PSA publishes Sound Information: A Boaters Guide. This guide is distributed for free to boaters through local marinas, West Marine stores, seminars, and events. We provide educational seminars and materials for boaters from Bellingham to Olympia. Look for a copy of a boaters guide near you. There you can find more information on the Clean Boating Campaign and other useful information about the region.
PSA is committed to working with marine industry and the marine community to protect Puget Sound waters and ensure a healthy environment, healthy economy, and recreational enjoyment for residents. We have a long history of successful marina and boater related projects. Take a look at our Current Projects and Accomplishments
