Sue
Joerger, Soundkeeper and Executive Director |
Sue
has worked on the Seattle waterfront for many years
as a program manager at the Center for Streamside Studies
at the University of Washington, sailing instructor
at Windworks Sailing Center, manager of the Corinthian
Yacht Club of Seattle, and technical writer/editor at
the NOAA Fisheries' Northwest Fisheries Science Center.
She also has thirteen years of non-profit management
experience working on forestry issues in Oregon. Sue
has lived on the waters of Puget Sound, off and on,
for the past ten years. She has a BA in Biology from
Mills College, California and an MS in Forest Management
from the University of Washington. Sue holds a 50-ton
U.S. Coast Guard captain's license.

Paul
Fredrickson, Program Assistant

Paul
has lived by water all his life, and in 1954 began
his service with the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked in
Search and Rescue, served as Quartermaster-2nd Class
in the South Pacific, and served in the Artic. After
graduating from college with honors, he worked as
an industrial designer, sales manager, and marketing
director until his retirement in 1997. He became involved
with Puget Soundkeeper Alliance's (PSA) Pollution
Prevention programs under Pat Pearson in 1998. Paul
has helped PSA with nearly every fundraising event
and every clean-up, and has worked PSA booths at countless
festivals and shows. His contributions to our outreach
in the community are immeasurable. After nearly five
years of volunteer work with PSA, he was asked to
join the staff as program assistant.

Katie
Kolarich, Program Coordinator |
Katie
grew up canoeing and boating on the rivers and lakes
of Iowa and Minnesota. She has been interested in
water quality ever since her parents told her she
wasn't allowed to swim in the upper Mississippi
River with her friends because it was so polluted
she could get sick. Katie brings experience in lobbying,
consulting, grant writing and contract management
on natural resource issues. She is currently completing
her degree from Lewis & Clark Law School where
she's focused on environmental and natural resources
law . While in law school, Katie has served as co-chairperson
of the National Association of Environmental Law
Societies (NAELS) and coordinator for the 2004 NAELS
Conference on public lands law and management. She
also holds a B.A. from Carleton College with a major
in Political Science/International Relations and
a concentration in Environmental and Technology
Studies.

Elizabeth
Moyer,
Development
Coordinator |
Elizabeth
graduated from Bucknell University in 2002 with a
BA in Environmental Studies and a double minor in
Economics and Ethics. Currently, she is a Sustainable
MBA Candidate at Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI).
Before enrolling at BGI, she was an Analyst
for ICF International where she primarily worked as
a consultant to the Environmental Protection Agency's
National Environmental Performance Track and Climate
Friendly Parks programs. Prior to her position with
ICF, she was a Research Assistant at DPRA, Inc. where
she supported the US EPA's Office of Site Remediation
and Enforcement. In addition to her consulting experience
with the federal government, she has also worked in
the non-profit sector with the National Park Foundation.

Margaret
Wallace, Manager |
As
a child growing up in Portland, Oregon, Margy camped
and canoed all over the US with her family. Her dad
was a fresh water biologist with the EPA. Occasionally,
she assisted him in collecting water samples at effluents
along the Columbia River. She holds a BS in biology
from Portland State University. She has worked as
a neurochemistry research assistant at the University
of Oregon Medical School and was controller for a
family business. Three kids and forty years later
she has come full circle back to water.

Chris
Wilke, Pollution Prevention Director |
Chris
heads up our outreach and public education efforts.
He works with Puget Sound area businesses, residents
and recreational boaters toward minimizing their collective
impact on water quality. In addition, Chris also brings
his experience in development and fundraising along
with his boating and paddling expertise. A
native of the Puget Sound area, Chris has been close
to the water in one way or another his whole life.
He is a certified SCUBA diver and has worked on marine
mammal research projects with NOAA. When not working
to protect and preserve Puget Sound with PSA, Chris
can often be found on the water, sailing his 22' sailboat
“Blue Heron” or fly fishing Puget Sound 's rivers,
lakes and saltwater beaches. Chris
has a certificate in Fundraising Management from the
University of Washington and a background in music
and liberal arts studies at Cornish College .
